Subject: Hello
Fredericka and Lucy
It's been about a year since
I've written and given an update on Rudy (Son of Brego and
Kacci- DOB 10/11/2008). He has been a wonderful addition to
the family. In fact in August of 2009 we had another child
and my wife was worried about how Rudy would be with the baby
especially when she started to crawl. I'm proud to say he is
great. She (Juliana) will crawl right past his face (almost
over his nose) and Rudy just picks his head up (gently) and
moves it to the other side. We live on a quiet dead end
street, and nearly from the first time I had Rudy heel without
a leash while walking up the block, he did it. I don't know
how he knew what heel was, whether it was just my voice or
what, but he would slow down and return to my side. He even
stays while our Lab runs ahead or if other people or dogs are
out. People are so impressed with his behavior! Thanks again
for creating such an awesome dog! Attached are a few photos
and please feel free to post same.

Lucy/ Fredericka
Hello to all at Flying W Farms. Well its
August and summer has finally reached the northeast, hazy,
hot and humid. Hope everyone is keeping cool down there.
Just giving an update on Rudy. At 9 months of age he
weighed 130 lbs. and was about 30 inches tall at the
shoulders. He is still gaining 10-12 lbs a month, so
actually he is probably about 140lbs. by now! He has been a
wonderful dog and really seems to be maturing, getting out
of any type of puppy stages that he may have had.
Attached are some photos of Rudy and Shadow- our 29" tall,
128 lb. black Lab .
Enjoy your summer,
Kevin

Lucy and Fredericka,
Everything went fine at the Vet. The vet said Rudy
looked good, his hips felt good, his ears and eyes looked good and
his teeth and gums looked good. No parasites in his stools. He
provided me with vitamins, along with heartworm and frontline for
puppies. He weighed in at 24.5 lbs.
BTW- He is crate trained already! I say " Rudy, in
your crate" he goes in and then waits for his treat, which remains
in the "cookie jar" on the counter until he goes in. Also, he
gets put in the sit position and has his feet wiped everytime we
come in from outside, so he has almost mastered the "sit" command
as well! In addition, he now barely ever picks up any toy that is
not his. You weren't fooling when you said they are SMART dogs!!!
Thanks again,
Kevin

Visit
Dear Fredericka and Lucy
Hope all is well at the farm and
everyone is staying warm! I just wanted to give you a quick
update on on Rudy (son of Brego and Kaci, DOB-10/11/08). He is
doing great. He has been such a quick learner, it is
unbelieveable. At less than 3 months of age he was given the
opportunity to have free roam of the house (main floor) at night
while we're upstairs in bed and he has been perfect. No
accidents, no climbing on furniture and no chewing of anything-
and my kids have a ton of toys within Rudy's reach! I get up once
during the night to walk him and if he needs to go at any other
time, he'll whine loud enough to let me know ( and this has only
happened twice). At 3 months he weighed 41 lbs and just now seems
to be really starting to gain weight fast. I don't know if
initially it was just an adjustment period for him, but over the
past 2 weeks, he has gained 13 lbs! He gets along well with our
kids, our Lab(Shadow) and recently we had a house full of guests
and he soaked up all the attention. (and slept all the next day!)
I attached a couple of photos and hopefully they turned out
alright.
Take Care and Thanks Again

Subject: UPDATE on recently
purchased fawn male
Dear Lucy and Fredericka
I am just writing to let you know that
our long ride home with Rudy went flawless, with the exception of
the torrential rain. Upon calling my wife to let her know that we
had picked up the puppy, she advised me that my four year-old son
was insisting on naming the puppy. I had already chosen Reagan,
but my son's three choices were: Cars (he loves cars), Turtle (I
have no idea where this came from) and Rudolph (as in the red
nosed reindeer). My wife and I were able to convince him that
Rudy was short for Rudolph so he was ok with that. Anyway, Rudy
has his 1st vet visit Tues. 12/16. My dog, Shadow, and him have
gotten along perfectly. Shadow stands there or lies there, as
Rudy tries to play with him. I am being very careful as far as
the rough housing is concerned. So far, so good- Rudy was quick
at learning what NO meant!
Thanks
Kevin
